We have been developing and improving diagnostic kits for infectious diseases such as Scrub Typhus, Leptospirosis, Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome, Dengue fever, Dengue hemorrhagic fever, Typhoid fever and Paratyphoid fever.
Among these, Scrub Typhus, Leptospirosis and Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome classified as acute febrile illness in Korea are new diseases spreading all over the world. In particular, these are infectious diseases that occur in the fall (about 100,000 people per year) in Southeast Asia including China. These are also diseases that cause more than 10 million people worldwide every year.
Because the clinical symptoms and dynamics are similar, it is difficult to distinguish the diagnosis. If it cannot be diagnosed early, it may progress aggressively to acute state or cause death. It is very important to diagnose them in early stage because each disease has different treatment methods.
Dengue fever and dengue haemorrhagic fever are the most common high-risk infections in the world every year.
In Korea, most of the infected people are infected from abroad. However, as mosquitoes are found in Jeju Island, there is also our concern about domestic infection. The Dengue Rapid Diagnostic Kit, which has been developed to date, has a high sensitivity and specificity.
No diagnostic kits have been used widely in the world for dengue hemorrhagic fever, which has been increasing due to climate warming and the expansion of intercultural exchanges.
We have also been developing detection kits that can detect potentially toxic organophosphate nerve agents (Sarin, Soman and VX) that can be used for large-scale chemical warfare and chemical terrorism in addition to infectious diseases. Some detection kits have been developed to detect nerve agents exposed to the environment, but it is the world’s first to have a detection kit that can detect nerve agents exposed in the living body.
In addition, we have the necessary source materials and technologies for vaccine development and will begin development at the appropriate time.
Our company has been conducting acute febrile disease diagnosis business since the establishment of the company, Many individual and simultaneous diagnostic kits have been developed with the world-class quality and registered in Korea Ministry of food and drug safety(formerly KFDA).
We have been exporting to Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia, Thailand and Nepal since 2013. Other diagnostic kits developed both domestically and internationally have high non-specificity and have difficulties in accurate diagnosis, so we sell our products with high sensitivity and specificity.
Diagnostic Kit Features and Benefits
- Various acute febrile diseases (tsutsugamushi disease, leptospirosis, nephrotic syndrome hemorrhagic fever and dengue fever) were measured using a small amount of specimen (3 μl).
- Individual diagnostic kit development technology capable of diagnosing within 15 minutes with only one test.
- Identification of IgM and IgG at the same time to understand progress of the disease.
- High specificity and sensitivity to rain in other diagnostic kits.
Technology development for simultaneous diagnosis kit (Acute Febrile Illness, AFI) that can diagnose the tsutsugamushi disease, leptospirosis and hemorrhagic fever with one test at the same time.
- In vivo biomarkers were used to determine bioaccumulation of nerve agent poisoning, and developed multiple detection kit development technology that can simultaneously detect organophosphate toxins (sarin, sonan, Vx, and diazinon) with only one test.
